A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002, in Midway Christian Church in Portland for Eugene Allen Cabler, who died July 2 at age 84.
Mr. Cabler was born May 14, 1918, in Tigard and was raised in Portland. He graduated from Jefferson High School and from La Salle University. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a policeman for the Portland Police Bureau for 26 years and later served as Gilbert Water District commissioner for 20 years. In 1944, he married Catherine Smith; she died in 1976. He married Virginia Larsen in 1978.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Larry A. and Michael J.; stepsons, John W. Larsen and Robert A. Larsen; stepdaughter, Susan D. Leigh; and five grandchildren.
