Steven Grover of Hicks, NY

Looking for info on Steven and Maria Grover. both are buried in Hicks Cem. Story has it that Steven was a horse trader and was hung. Does anyone know anything about this? His date of death was 1905. Maria died ca. 1925. They had at least two sons, Allison and Samuel. Thanks.
