I am looking for info on surnames GREEN, BOWMAN, WEIG, and SHAW. We are desperately looking for any descendants of Robert & Iola Green. Robert and Iola were born in Canada, and they came to Buffalo by 1914 and Iola died before 1935. Their son Ralph Earl Green was born in Buffalo about 1914. They also had at least one daughter who became Mrs Philip Weig (married previous to 1936). We believe Philip Weig died in 1970s in rockaway area.
We are also looking for info about family of Oscar and Theresa Bowman, also originally from Norfolk Co, Ontario, Canada. They had children Catherine (Katie), Allen, Mary (married a Jones) and Lucy. They also raised a granddaughter Theresa Elizabeth aka Betty Bowman. The elder Theresa lived for many years in Buffalo, and occasionally took mass at St Stephens church. She lived on Kneltner Street with the family during 1930 census, then in 1936 is listed on Sheldon or Shelby Road. The granddaughter Theresa/Betty married Ralph Earl Green at St Stephens church in 1936. The Greens lived in Buffalo until about 1946-47 (just after the war.) Ralph Earl Green was unable to participate as a soldier and stayed at home. Theresa/Betty left to move to Michigan.
Theresa/Betty's stepfather was Cal Howden from Ontario. Her friend was Miss Roseen Coombs of Boston, MA. Any idea of a married name or how to find Roseen would be very helpful!
Most of these family members stayed in Buffalo area. Please contact Diane or Dana if you have any ideas on where to fins these folks!dianiewill@aol.com. or, p2willia@oakland.edu Thanks so much!
