My ancestor Walter SHAW b: 1814 Saratoga, NY, was the son of Phebe Wait and Daniel SHAW. THey left Saratoga and went to Niagara Co.NY. Eventually ending up around Newfane area in 1830. There is some reference to their daughter, Jane E. "Betsey" as we had been told she was called, and to her marriage to Henry Clay Hulburt. He became a minister and went to Michigan. I remember two of his children were Emma and Walter. Walter was the name of this Jane's brother. He was my gg grandfather. I have pictures of both of them from when they were about the same age - very old - and their is no question that they are sister and brother. It is uncanny how much they look alike. I also have a picture of Jane when she was a young mother with one of her children. Sue Milos, a descendant, sent me copies of these. She has all the info on the Henry Hulburt family. Email me and I will give you her email address. Do you know who the father of your William SHAW is? It could be related in some way, like a nephew of my Daniel. Daniel SHAW had a few brothers but we don't have a William listed. Let me know what you have on your William SHAW.
