Joseph was listed in the Militia at Kingwood along with Capt John's sons Jacob and Peter in 1783. That is the only documentation which I have for him in your county. I cannot church, baptism, birth, marriagte or anything else for him there. He listed NJ as his birthplace once he was in OH as his children are also listed. He married Elizabeth, either MIDDAGH or VANATTA, and they had 10 children: Moses, John, Jacob (Mine), Joseph, and Aaron; girls were Margaret, Mary Ann, Sarah, Susanna, and Elizabeth. Families w/ whom they are intermarried are in addition to the two above ANGLE, PARGIN, PEPPLE, WAGGONER/WAGNER, STOLTZ, and WESTALL most of which are from this area also. Surely someone somewhere has documentation for Elizabeth's identity or Joseph's parentage. I have tried to link to Capt. John whose marriage shows no other child for that birth time and whose other children are named the same as those in my line. However, I cannot document that he belongs to John and Margaret PETTY. CAN anyone help?
