Robert P. Stearns and his wife, Lydia Augusta Faye, moved to Spencer, NE about 1890, when the land was first opened to settlement, from Ponca Indian Lands. We know that Robert was the first postmaster in Spencer, and that he had a hand in naming the town, becuase he claimed they had "come from a place by that name." We have not been able to find any such place. Robert's father was Levi W. Stearns. We would very much like to find any info we can on this family. Thank you. Lynn
