I have their children from the 1850 and 1860 Census in Nansemond Co, VA: Samuel Stringfield, Jr, John, Sarah Ophelia, Annie Virginia,Junius, Benjamin, Jane. Also living with them was an Elbert Stringfield, likely a brother of Samuel Stringfield, also born in Hertford County about 1833, but no proven connections.

Samuel Stringfield, b. 1803 Isle of Wight County, lived in Hertford Co, NC 1810s through 1848 before moving to Nansemond County, VA where he died in the 1850s. Was his father the William Stringfield shown in the 1820 Hertford Co Census? Any known relatives or other info on this family?

William H. Brooks, born Pr. Edward County, VA about 1816-1819 married Sarah Stringfield in Nansemond County, VA in 1865. His residence is shown as Hertford Co, NC and he was a house carpenter and a widow. Any information on him in Hertford Co, NC between 1850 - 1865 would be appreciated.
