I have traced my G-G-G-Grandfather George Washington (possibly with an added initial "J") KEY to the family of Jane A. KEY of Pre-Civil War Tishomingo County, MS. It appears that Jane A. KEY may have arrived in Tishomingo County between 1837 and 1840 from Tennessee. I believe that her husband was E. KEY who died between 1845 and 1850. I would appreciate any information on any members of this family:
1860 Census - Rienzi Post Office - Tishomingo County Jane A. KEY, 52, farmer, b.Tenn David, 29, farmer, b. Tenn William, 22, law student, b. Tenn Mary, 19, b. Miss Anne E., 15, b. Miss
1850 Census - Southern Division Tishomingo County Residence # 185 Jane A. KEY, 42, b. Tenn G.W.J. (My G.G.G. Grandfather), 25, b. Ala David H., 21, b. Tenn James B., 16, b. Tenn William J., 13, b. Tenn Mary A., 10, b. Miss Ann Eliza, 5, b. Miss
1840 Census - Page 12 (no location given) Family of E. KEY
I am also interested in the Family of G.W. KEY farmer, born 1801 in VA.
This family is listed in the Eastern Division of Tishomingo County on the 1850 Census and in Rienzi, Tishomingo County on the 1860 Census
