I live in Pleasant Hill, LA. I, too, am searching for a Reed.
My great great grandmother was Mary Celemine (Sarah) Laffitte. She married an S.W. Reed in 1877 in DeSoto Parish, LA
Don't know what the S.W. stood for, whether it was Soloman or Sylvester, but there is a S.W. Reed that used to be the postman in the Wallace Community area that's buried in Wallace Cemetery.
Don't know who his parents were, but he had three children by his first marriage, 1st.,Louisiana, born in 1867 and married a Sam Goodman in 1892, 2nd.,William, born in 1869, 3rd.,Della, born in 1870 and married to Brooks Jordan in 1897. Then there was Sarah L., born in 1879, two years after S.W. and Sarah were married.
