My Great-great grandfather, Sylraner Rayburn Cox was born September 27, 1804 in Madison Co., KY according to family information. I have found no proof of this in any of the free genealogy sites. Also, no proof of who his parents were other than a guess that they might have been William Bryson Cox b. 1784 in VA, and Patience Rayburn. They were supposedly married in Savannah, MO (Andrew Co.) but no proof of this either. Sylraner Rayburn Cox is found in MO censuses of 1840, 1850, and 1860. After that, He is in AR. I cannot trace him further back than 1838 when he married Susannah Davis Harris in MO. Please, if anyone has any info of him in KY or of his parents, I would be eternally grateful!
