PLEASE HELP! Trying to find out what happened to Gladys E Zent. She married Carl A. Schumacher (born 1897). Her and Carl divorced after their second child was born in 1927. First child was Elizabeth Schumacher (known as Aunt Betty who later married and lived in Michigan). Second Child was Calvin Schumacher, Sr. who died in 1982. Elizabeth Schumacher died sometime in the late eighties-early ninetys. Nothing is known of Gladys E Zent after her divorce of Carl. It is rumored she gave Calvin Sr. away in exchange for furniture to her cousin? by the last name of McKenzie on a farm. Elizabeth then lived with a couple, named Wolf for a short period of time. The Wolfs are buried in Huntington County, Huntington Indiana (confirmed). I can not find a tombstone for Carl Schumacher anywhere in the old and new part of the cemetery in Huntington. It is rumored that Gladys E Zent died in a gangster shootout in the 1930's with her boyfriend in Chicago, IL but I can not find any of this to be true. I have spoken to Rex Zent in OH who has a father (still alive) who knew of Gladys E Zent but is too old to remember her fate. It is a piece of Schumacher history that remains a major mystery.
