Nathan Townsend Son Of Charles Townsend

I am trying to find evidence that Nathan Townsend was the son of Charles Townsend. Nathan came to LaSalle Co., IL about 1835 from Sullivan Co., NY. Charles was a Rev War Soldier. Nathan was his son, but need something that ties them together. Nathan also had a brother, Joshua of DeKalb Co., IL. Nathan died in 1851 in LaSalle Co., IL. His wife was Elizabeth, maiden name unknown. His daughter Margaret marred Edwin Van der zee Beardsley.
