There is Evergreen Cemetary, located near the Makanda Bapt. Church. But it is not owned by the Church. As far as I know a Mr. Heern is the caretaker of the cemetary. He lives on Springer Ridge Road. His name might be Charles. But I don't remember his first name. A couple of years ago he was trying to get a list of names for those without stones. So, that he could have an idea who is buried where. There is nothing printed out. You can send a letter to Evergreen Cemetery, Makanda, Il., 62958. And I'm sure Mr. Heern would get it.
Is Mr. Ross, the man who lives in Makanda related to you? I have met him once at twice at my folks home, several years ago. I think Mother made a quilt for him.
Since your posting is more than a year old, perhaps you have already gotten the info you were looking for.
Guess I was excited someone asking a name I've heard of in Makanda.
