I have traced my great grandfather Elford L. Smith to the 1880 census of Jackson County GA where he lived with his wife Phalbey and 6 children. Other children were born in SC later. One of them was William Alexander Smith, my grandfather. Elford is supposedly buried in a cemetery in Atlanta called Harmony Grove which was once associated with an extinct church of the same name. Another Smith, James, is also supposedly buried there, but the markers are in question due to vandals. There may be a relationship between Elford and James. I have seen Elford's name listed as "Alfred".

Any help in researching these Smiths is much appreciated.
