Seeking information on John Griffis, born 1778; Four Holes, Orangeburg District, South Carlina; died March 1824 in Appling Co., Ga.; married Sarah Neel,about 1799, daughter of Reubin Neel. John lived in Bullock & Momtgomery Counties and they were cut into Emanuel County in 1812. He moved to Appling Co., Ga in May 1821. The children of this marrage are:
Elizabeth, born 1800; married Aug 31, 1817 to John Hunter
Reubin Neel, born 1810
Casandra, born 1812
Emilia, born 1815; married Jan. 12, 1837 to Robert Higdon
Mary, born 1817; married April 25, 1841 to Neil Mcleod.
John Griffis was the son of John Griffis,born 1754; married Barbara LNU.
