James and Mahala ________ Lee had abt 8 children, half of which were born in Wayne Co TN and the rest were born in Izard Co AR. They were on the 1850 census of Izard Co and also 1860, 1870 and 1880. Their son, William Newton Lee, was my gg grandfather. He married ____________ abt 1866 and had Barbara or Bab, Tennie, Johnny and Laura Lee. She died and he married Caldona Ann Lacy of Izard Co AR.
They had 11 more children. I am searching for this first wife. Bab moved to Fort Smith after marriage and came back right away to get Laura Lee to raise. Johnny died in the snowstorm of Feb 1886. Newt Lee went to prison for 3 years to to Johnny's death.
