Hi, Just a short note to inquire if there is a death index for Houston CO AL for the years 1903-1950? I am researching the following families: REID (Alex R); BROWN ("J.T" John T; Guy H); JONES (Wm C; Wesley B; "Lonnie"); THOMPSON (Wm Byron); WILLIAMS (Thomas S; Catherine P; Wyatt Green). Especially interested in the death notices, obits, news articles on:
1) Mrs Susan Alice (nee JONES) BROWN d 20 Sept 1932 Dothan AL (need burial place);
2) John Thomas "J.T." BROWN, CSA vet, b 1848 Ga, d abt 1944 AL (need obit,burial place,true death date);
3) Guy Hartwell BROWN (1874-194?) a Constable / Marshall for Gordon City in the 1930's;
4) Mrs Catherine P. (nee WILLIAMS) JONES (1841 Ga) d abt 1912 thru 1919? Cottonwood Houston CO AL (was in the 1910 census);
5) William C. JONES (1826-1895) lived Cottonwood Henry Co AL 1850 til death;
6) "Lonnie" Guilford JONES (b 1879 Cottonwood) d early 1900's after being shot & killed by Sheriff Oscar Whitehead (should be a news article somewhere).
7) Alexander "Alec" Robt REID, CSA vet, (1838 Ga) d Dec 1917 Cottonwood, Houston CO AL.
