My grandmother's name was Lila Parker Wood. She was born in Parker, South Dakota, March 2, 1894. Father's name was John, do not know mother's name. Ran away from home in Peoria to Chicago when she was fifteen or so and never kept in contact with her family. My mom thinks John Wood may have been a mailman; she knows the family lived in Alabama for a while; and thinks John died in Peoria, Illinois in the 1890 - 1900's. It is rumored he was from Ireland. I do not know the name of his wife, although she may have lived in Maywood, Illinois in the 1920's. There were several other children, including a sister named Pearl and a brother named Clarence.
