My grandfather was George Edward Washburn. He
was a pitcher for the New York Yankees in 1941.
His Father was Franklin Walter Washburn, born in
Old Town Maine, July 30,1886. His mother was
Laura Belle Staples Washburn, born Dec 5, 1881.
Franklin Washburn's father and mother were Charles
and Sarah Gregg Washburn. Laura Belle Staples'
father were Darius and Susan Christy Staples.
