I'm looking for anyone who has information on the ACTUAL surname of Barbara, wife of Dilman Washabaugh/Weschenbach, Waschenbach. They were married about 1740 In Lancaster County, PA. Before 1755, they migrated to Frederick County, MD. There are no birth records for their children, which would be consistent with the Mennonite faith. There was a community of Mennonites at Hebron Station, where eight of their nine children were born. In addition,
John Bowman was a lifelong friend of Dilman's and he, along with Samuel Bachtel,was an administra-tor of Dilman's will of 1780. (John Bowman and Samuel Bachtel were Mennonites.) It seems likely that Dilman would have married a young woman from the Mennonite community in Lancaster or the community at Hebron Station.
I am also interested in learning more about Dilman's brother, John Henry, who also migrated with his family to Frederick County, Md. after 1759.
