I know for certain that my great great great grandfather was Philip Stout who married Julia Foust. According to "wabash County History" a book from 1900(Indiana) This Philip came to IN from Morrow County Ohio. The book also states that Philip's father was also named Philip however, we cannot find any record of the older Philip in Ohio. It also states that they had come to Ohio from Guilford Co. NC. Has anyone ever come across this older Philip in their research? We are wondering if the 1900 book was wrong. Or perhaps Philip was his middle name and we just aren't finding the correct first name.
