For those interested in Rogers roots do not be decpted by certain German links, its spelling betrays its true origins as Welsh.Originating from Norman conqest in 10th century, the German name' hrod-gar' meaning 'great spearman' was a popular militaristic name and was thus adopted by many Welsh families and transformed to sound and be prounounced through the Welsh toungue.
