I'm endeavouring to do a family trace for my grandchildren and keep coming to a dead end with my dad's side. His father was Herbert William married Gertrude Hooper in 1905 in Fulham. Left England with 2 young sons, Charles born 1906 and Herbert, for Australia between 1907 and 1913 possibly prior to 1910. I know that Herbert's father was Charles Augustus Stephan and Herberts birth was registered at Portsmouth Dec.2. 1885. The rest is a mystery. Apparantly there was a spilt in the family when Herbert married Gertrude. Has anyone any links or clues. I would appreciate any help you can give.
