I am trying to track down the geneology of the Edmund Pendleton who was promoted to a First Lieutenant in the 3rd Regiment of Artillery, on October 26, 1861. I am in possession of this document signed by Abraham Lincoln dated Feb. 5, 1862. This document came to me through my father Philip Edmund Pendleton (1932-2002), through his Uncle Edmund somewhere in Virginia. I cannot find this Edmund Pendleton anywhere on the geneology lists.
