Which Edmund? There was Edmund, Sr., who was the uncle of Edmund, Jr. The latter being named for the former. Both were from Virginia. Edmund Pendleton, Sr. was a judge in Caroline County. Edmund Pendleton, Jr. (who was taught law by Edmund Pendleton, Sr.) was the last of the crown attorneys before the Revolution, and the first Commonwealth's Attorney after the Declaration of Independence.
