Re: Nathan Napier. The Napier and Noe family's are listed as some of the earliest settlers in Harlan Co. Ky. probably settling around 1800.1. John Noe married Elizabeth Patrick, probably mid 1700's. They had a son, David. 2. David married Mourning Harris (born 1780) Mournings parents were John Harris and Lucy? 3. David and Mourning had a daughter in 1822 and named her Mourning, after her mother. 4. Mourning married Robert Napier, born 1818-1819 on 11 Feb. 1839. Robert died in 1883 in Harlan County, Kentucky. 5. Robert and Mourning Noe Napier's fourth child was a son, born in 1851, named Nathan. Nathan Napier married Rhoda (Rhody) Howard on 15 April, 1872. They lived at Bobs Creek and Both died and are buried on the old home place. Nathan Napier and Rhoda Howard Napier's third child was a daughter. They named her Mourning or Norine. She was born 26 October, 1892 and died 1 November, 1988 at the age of 96. She married four times. Mourning was my grandmother.Her oldest son was George William Stewart.George was my father.
