My GG Grandfather was Mathias Mount b.8/1820 in TN
in the U.S., He was killed in The Civil War in
Sept.1862.It is my understanding his father came
from Europe, possibly England, but no proof. It is
rumored the name was originally Mountbatten. His
father committed treason, fled to the U.S., &
dropped the "batten" in the late 1700's when he
arrived in the U.S. We have been trying to find the
father of Mathias Mount for many years.
