Responding to my Message Board, "Proving George Moore"@ RootsWeb, 7/17/03, Andy Graham referred me to a reference to George Moore's will, New River Notes. This confirmed the Moore line, the marriage of George & Nancy, my list of their children & led me to find, thanks to Andy Graham, Nancy Hanks Moore, 68, George’s widow on the old homestead, living next to her son, William's farm in Wolf's Glade, Carrol County, Virginia with her daughter, Mary Ann Moore, 26.in the 1860 census.

Now I need to prove George Moore’s father. George Moore was born 1780 in Grayson Co VA & m. Nancy Ann Hanks 1808 in Grayson Co. He first appeared on the Grayson Co tax lists in the 1824 Personal Property Tax List. He died in the newly formed Carroll County in 1843. I’m looking for a will of Isaac Moore who first appears as the only Moore on the 1805 tax lists of Grayson Co. & has been cited as George Moore’s father & last appears in the 1828 tax lists. Isaac Moores death & will would have had to be within that or the next decade. My query:

Does anyone know of an online will of this Isaac Moore?

Has anyone any imfo on the father & family of George Moore?
