Believe the above Thomas is the father of my Anna Bell MOORE CHAPPLE LEE. According to his death certificate he was born 15 Apr 1851 in Louisiana to J T MOORE and Aney BELL. He died 23 Feb 1923 in Jefferson County, Alabama.

Census records appear to back this up as I find a "James T MOORE" and Anna with a son Thomas in the census records. They lived only briefly in Louisiana before moving back to Tennessee - Lincoln and Franklin counties. James' wife appears to have died sometime prior to 1880 as I believe he married a second time to Mary E CRAWFORD in Lincoln County.

Some time between 1880 and 1888, Thomas and his father James, moved to Birmingham. James T MOORE was born ca 1821-3 and died sometime between 1900 and 1908.

James and Anna/Anniah/Aney had the following children according to census records:

James b. ca 1845 TN
M M (female) b. ca 1847 LA
Thomas Louis b. 1851 LA
Charles G b. 1854 TN
Anna b. 1857 TN

Thomas worked for the L & N railroad according to the Birmingham City Directory and his death certificate as a "car inspector". His first wife "Annie" died sometime in the 1890's and he married a second time to Bessie GLAZE, daughter of Henry P GLAZE and Sarah.

I only know two children from the 1880 census:

Anna (my ancestor) age 6 b. AL
Charles T age 2 b. TN

Thomas and Bessie never had any children together.
