I am seeking information on the parents of my great grandfather Alexander Lane Martin. I think his mother's first name was MARY and his father was killed in Civil War. Mary and Mr. Martin moved from TN to Dent County, MO sometime after 1856 as they had a daughter Mary S Martin born in MO in 1859. After Mr. Martin died Alex's mother married JOHN LONGGREAR and I found them on the Dent County, MO 1870 Census with John's son "John H. Longgrear, Alexander, O. H. (called lynn), Mary S. and Mary and John Longgrears son Silas W. Longgrear. Alexander named his first two sons by his first marriage ELISHA B. Martin and WILLIAM Martin...he next married NANCY JANE(nee EAVES) MILLER (her first husband was LEVY MILLER) and had 8 children...their oldest son was named FRANCIS LANE MARTIN,the next son was SILAS (DUTCH) MARTIN and the 3rd son was named WILLIS GARROD MARTIN. Alexander and his family moved to VICTOR, RAVALLI COUNTY, MT in 1900.
