I am looking for any information about a Mallet line to America.
I have an ancestor, Mary Mallet , of Woburn, MA who married a Daniel Blodgett April 4, 1709. She died in Stafford, CT Mar. 20-21, 1759. I do not have her birthdate or parents names. She had two children: Daniel born Jan 19, 1710, and a daughter, Mary, born June 23, 1711. It is my understanding the Mallets were FRENCH HUGUENOTS.
In my family we have a French Bible that came to America via the Mallet's. The Bible is in French, a Huguenot Bible from the 1640's to 1650's; It is inscribed, "La bibble de la Granmere, Monsieur Benjamin Blodgett". His grandmother was the above named Mary Mallet Blodgett. There was a newspaper article written about this Bible in the 1940's where my great great aunt gave a lecture and displayed the Bible at a Presbyterian function. It was willed to the Dayton Art Institute in 1954.
I would appreciate any insight to this discovery re: the Mallet line in America> I can't put my finger on the article, there is French/Canadia aspect to this story-- Michael
