Hector Louis Mallette was an enlisted solder in the US Army during WWII. He was a naturalized citizen of Great Britain. He was in the 37th Division, 145th Infantry Antitank Company.
In 1940, The 37th Division was a National Guard Unit out of Ohio, that was activated for service during WWII in the South Pacific. Specifically, they served in the islands of Fiji, and Bouganville, before continuing on to regain control of Manila, in the Philippines.
My late Grandfather, Walter M. Scott, is pictured to the right shoulder of Hector Louis Mallette in the "Pictorial History of the 37th Division 1940-1941", and I wanted to see if I could talk to members of his unit or their relatives about the experiences of men in this unit.
