I am searching for my great-grandfather Reuben Lee, listed in one census as Reuben H Lee. I was born abt 1876 in South Carolina and died abt 1939 in Oconee SC.
He married(2) Mary Nancy Wilcox (1888-1852). He had previously been married and his children were close to her age when they married abt 1903.
They had two children: Alice Lee (b 1907, South Carolina), and Robert Albert Lee (b 17 dec 1904 Clemson, SC area, d. 31 jan 1955, Macon County, Alabama) -- my grandfather.
On Reuben's WWI draft registration he has checked both "white" and "indian, citizen" as race. Mary Nancy Wilcox was supposed to be 1/2 Cherokee so he may have been as well.
I'm looking for any information on either Reuben or Mary Nancy. Thanks!
