My surname (at birth) is Fissiault dit Laramée. I first discovered this fact at 16 years old, when I went to the municipal records to have of copy of my Laramée birth certificate. I was non existent. My grand-mother suggested the Fissiault dit Laramée, which they found, of course.
More recently, I have discovered a large and distant family and am researching to find more.
The Fissiau dit Laramée family first settled around the Pointe-aux-Trembles (Montréal) area in the 1600s. The ancestors of my family is Antoine Fissiau and Anne Millet from Blois (Chartes) France. Their son Jacques Fissiau dit Laramée and his wife Anne Monet had 14 children, mostly born and married in St-François d’Assise de la Longue-Pointe (Montréal) L’Enfant-Jésus-de-Pointe-aux-Trembles Parish (Montréal), , Côte-St-Léonard, St-Joseph-de-la-Rivière-des-Prairies and in Boucherville (south of Montréal)
Since I have access to the Salle Gagnon of the Montréal City Library, where many genealogical records are kept, it is possible for me to do research in my free time.
Some researchers have many Laramée names in their bases and I thank all those who have shared publicly their information.
