My great grandmother Elizabeth (surname spelled?) married Duncan MacDonald (McDonald). At the time of the 1891 Census in Nova Scotia, Canada, they were listed as residents of Harbour au Bouche (Havre Bouche) as follows:
McDonald Duncan hd. age 39 Fisherman (Catholic) Elizabeth wf. age 31 James son age 15 Mary E. dau age 12 Daniel son age 09 Catherine J. dau age 08 Angus son age 05 Elizabeth M. dau age 02 Vencient son age 1.12
Note: My grandfather was Vincent MacDonald born April 01, 1891 Havre Bouche, Nova Scotia Baptized at St. Anne's Catholic Church on April 3rd, 1891 Son of Duncan & Elizabeth Duncan's father's name was Angus.
My assumption is that Vincent's first name was merely a spelling error and that the 1.12 may indicate months rather than years old. If the census was taken in June, that would be in keeping with an April birthdate. The forename Vincent was not very common amongst the McDonald's at the time therefore I am fairly certain that this is my line.
The problem is that I can not find any Kehoe's or variant spellings in the NS 1891 Census. I did find a few MacKeough's but that's it. There is a very good likelihood that Elizabeth's family was residing elsewhere.
I would love to hear from anyone that feels there may be any connection or who like me, is simply trying to find some link to same. Thankyou!
