Does anyone have Walker, born in 1817 to James and Nancy (Payne)Johson listed in a family genealogy or Bible? He moved away from the Fayette County, Kentucky area around 1844 to Missouri and proof of his link to the family is needed. His first name was William like his older brother but he was called Walker and named after his father's neighbor, Lt. William Walker, who served beside James in the War of 1812.
The family was separated due to Civil War events, but his mother Nancy left him money and he donated generously to his church.
Walker's grandaughter left oral history that he was educated with his two brothers at the Choctaw Academy after his father's death.
