Looking for my gr gr grandfather Mathew G. Hill from Kentucky. He had a daughter, Ella (Ellie) Elizabeth Hill abt. 1882. I was told he may have married a 'Shope" surname who was full blood cherokee. I am looking for Mathew's family and also his wife. I have Ellie's linage from her and her husband which traces them from KY to OK. Her husband, John Louis Whalen remarried and moved to TX and AZ after Ellie died. Ellie lived approx. 1881-1914 leaving children Frank, Verna Christeen, Lucille and Mahala. Does anyone have any information on this family? I also have a marriage bond of a John Whalen marrying Ella in Caldwell Cty. KY 29 Dec. 1897. Mathew G. Hill signed it with a Daniel Hill as the witness. The 1900 census said Ella was born in KY, her father in TN and her mother in NC.
