Hello folks. I am trying to find my maternal grandpa Robert "Bob" Heffington. I began working on family history about 2 1/2 years ago. I'm working on my family & my husband's family. My mother never met her father & we have almost no information about him at all.
We do know that he was stationed at Luke Air Force Base in AZ. I believe that he was in the army. And that he was a guard. He met my grandma, Ethel Avenell Williford while he was there. I don't know for sure if they were ever married or not. One rumor was that he faked a ceremony. I do know that my mom was born in a maternity hospital in Phoeniz on 9-4-45. My grandma raised momma with the help of her mom. Mom grew up with the Heffington name. When mom was about 13, grandma married Virgil Lee & they had a child. Later they divorced. Grandma later married Raymond Fugate & they had 2 kids together. I don't know why, but Grandma never talked about it. She would have been 77 years old this year so I'm guessing that Bob is older than that. Any help finding him would be greatly appreciated.
I was in a similiar circumstance with my own father. My parents were divorced while he was overseas. It took 21 years for us to find each other. But it was so exciting when we did. That was 18 years old. We know our changes of finding Bob aren't very good. But miracles do happen.
Mom had 3 kids (1 girl & 2 boys) and together,we have given her 8 grandkids (5 girls & 3 boys). If you can email me privately at How@voyager.net
