his family is listed as Black on the Federal Census for 1880 PA, 1890 PA, 1900 PA, 1910 NJ, 1920 NJ, 1930 NJ. However, they may have been light skinned because by 1930 Otto David Harris and his family are passing as white. In 1930 they lived in Paterson, NJ in an all white neighborhood and his son married a white woman. The family kept it a secret from the current generation until I saw the 1930 census six months ago. Albert Harris could read in the 1880 Philadelphia PA census. I would like to find anyone connected to this family. I would also like to know if anyone has had DNA research done on the VA African American Harris family? Thanks, Mara
