George Leroy Harris, born 1925, Petoskey, Michigan. He is my father. I don't think I have ever seen him (I don't think...). If he is alive he would be 78 years old this year. My birth certificate said he was a "Negro," and that at the time of my birth (10/1/48) he was a shipping clerk. He married my mother, Julia Ann Lewis, approximately 1947-48. They may have met in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1946-47. My mother attended "Michigan State Normal College", which is now Eastern Michigan University. I have heard that he was a writer (so am I) and known for his smile and easy going disposition (again, so am I). Only if you have done this type of search do you understand. I am now 54 years old and I have never felt complete. I know he may be deceased, but I am sure that he remarried and that I have siblings "somewhere." If you can, please help. I just want to know.
