I am looking for any information on my gggrandfather ELIJAH HARRIS, believe he was born about 1804 in either SC or NC. I also believe his father was THOMAS A. HARRIS. ELIJAH was married to ELIZABETH STUARD in 1829 and moved to Alabama; from there to Itawamba County, Mississippi and Louisiana then eventually to Smith County, Texas.



He had 5 daughters: MARY JANE (1829), MARGARET C. (1839), RHODA (1841), ELIZABETH “TICEY” (1849), and REBECCA A. (1855). Also 7 sons: THOMAS A. (1830), JOHN (1833), JAMES N. (1834), JOSHUA NELSON (1843), ELIJAH HOUSTON (1844), WILLIAM (1846), and JESSE WASHINGTON (1847).



My grandfather THOMAS AULSTON HARRIS, born 1860, Smith County, Texas. (Same year Thomas A. died) Mother was CLARINDA C. TROUBLEFIELD.



I would like any information or directions that would help me get over my 1804 brick wall.
