John Hanson was my great-grandfather - I think. My grandfather was Ernest (or Earnest Hanson) and his mother was MaryAnn from England. I have found a John Hanson livin in Birmingham, Allegheny County Pennsylvania USA in the 1890s and this is the area my family settled. MaryAnn apparently had a number of different last names - McNally, Smith and Hanson, as far as I can tell.
