Leroy M. Green was a state representative to the Illinois Legislature from Rockford Illinois. He died in 1941 & his wife, Mable, succeed him in office until around 1954. They had one daughter named, Flora. Leroy was married and divorced with 4 children from that marriage. He lived in the Rockford area & there he had 2 brothers and a sister. The family came from Virginia, to Ohio, and then to Illinois. His father was a son of Abraham Shipe & Eliza Green Shipe who are buried at Starkey Cemetery in Cherry Valley, Il. Eliza Reiley Green Shipe's first husband, William, died in the War of 1812 in VA. & they lived in Dinwiddie Co. VA. She married Abraham Shipe a year after and had 14 children with him. 10 survived to adulthood; 5 girls and 5 boys. Am researching both the Green and the Shipe lines.
