Hi Ian
At last I have found someone else trying to find Gordons from Co Fermanagh and Co Monaghan, especially Clones. I cannot go as far back as early 1800's but how wonderful it would be if what you have could possibly match some of mine.
My Grandfather was Hugh Gordon born c1867 in co Fermanagh. Father Patrick Gordon ? Both Patrick and Hugh were drapers.
Hugh Married Mary Rebecca ---- born c1868 and they had 8 children, Michael 1893, Hugh or Hubert 1895, Patrick 1897, Annie 1900, Maureen 1902, Martha 1904, Kathleen 1906 and Andrew 1908.
The Clones 1901 census finds them living in Whitehall Street, Clones. The 1911 census has Hugh as a widower and they were living at 33 Fermanagh Street Clones. They were living above Hughs drapers shop.
In June 1911 Hugh married Ellen Trainor and they had 8 children. James Francis 1912, Daniel 1914-1987, Brigid Teresa 1915, Monica 1916, Rita 1917 my mother, Joseph Anthony 1919, Johanna Joan 1920, Aiden 1922.
Hugh died in Clones in 1935
We visited Clones last year and according to an old man we met, the Gordons were spread all over the world. I know one of them went to South Africa, but not which one.
Johanna Gordon married Joseph Kelly in Dublin in 1948
