I am researching William & Julia A GLIDDEN that showed up on the 1870 Federal Census of Woodland Twp, Aroostook, ME with my husband's 2nd gr-grandfather Melvin A SYLVESTER. The GLIDDENs took in Melvin, a sickly child, shortly after his father died in a Civil War prison and raised him. I'd love to know the ancestry of the GLIDDENs.
