William Gibson came to the United States from Ireland sometime around 1780. He married a Mary Laughead and had a son William Robison Gibson in 1803. William JR. married Martha McChesney and around 1852 moved with Martha and their sons to Andrew, Jackson Co. Iowa. I have not been able to find any information on the elder William Gibson as to where in Ireland he came from or who his parents were. If there is anyone who is researching this family I would very much like to share information. Thaanks ever so much.
