Carmel is my ggg gf. 1850 Cove Creek Arkansas census states he was born in Tenn. in 1788. Wife Mary born 1810 in Ky. Sons Thomas born 1826 Ky, John b. 1828 Indiana, Samuel b. 1832 Indiana and daughter Sarah b. 1833 Indiana.
Family is in Putnam Co., Indiana 1830 census listed as "Gipson".
The three sons mustered into the Confederate Army in 1862 at Conway Ark. They were attached to the 27th Ark. Infantry and remained there until the end of the Civil War.
