Looking for descendants/information on John M. GATES b. 1878 Collin Co., TX to Louella B. WHITE & J. M. GATES. Louella remarried to N. H. KILGORE in Collin Co., TX in 1880; by 1882 she had died. John M. GATES was then raised by Louella's sister and husband - Virginia Wesley WHITE MARSALIS and Samuel M. MARSALIS. I have found them living on Samuel Marsalis' farm in the 1920 census. John M. GATES is listed as a widower and has a 5 yr old daughter, Agnes GATES.
Who was his first wife? By 1930 John M. GATES has remarried to Mattie. Agnes is living in the household as is 15 years old. What happened to Agnes and Mattie? Any help is appreciated!
