I'm searching for my gr-gr-grandfather William H. Gardner. We believe he was born in either Iowa or Michigan in 1843. He enlisted in the Union army in Dec 1863 in Warren County, Iowa. In 1869 he had a son Charles Henry Gardner and in 1871 a daughter Ollie. He died somewhere in Arkansas in 1873. Charles and Ollie continued living in Arkansas. Any information on William would be much appreciated.
