I am looking to find the lineage of Nathaniel Gardner who was born May 18, 1735 (probably on Nantucket). He married Margaret Heath, (parents unknown) around 1760. Margaret was born sometime around 1740, most likely in Scotland. At some point, Nathaniel Gardner moved to Pittsylvania County Virginia from where he fought in the American Revolution (DAR Patriot Index Volume II, DAR National #309189, 1938), guarding boats under Commander Conway in the Militia at the Battle of Camden. He died in either 1832 or 1833. Margaret died in 1835. They had at least two children (Nathaniel and Heath) and maybe as many as five.

I know quite a bit about his descendants but have never been able to find out where he came from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
